Fits the following:

1971–75 Maverick / Comet

1976–77 Maverick / Comet (if you need straps, order part number ST99)

This tank has minor dents received during shipping from the manufacturer. These are cosmetic and will not affect the tank’s function. May not be appropriate for a show car, but is perfectly serviceable for a daily driver.

This tank will work on 1971–75 Maverick / Comet, but you MUST use straps number ST99 to install this 19-gallon tank in 1971–75s, because these years did not have a 19-gallon tank and the original straps are too short.

For 1971–73 Mavericks / Comets, you may have to pull the valance away from the tank slightly.

For fuel sender for this tank, see part number D6DZ-9275A.

Also, this tank has a smaller emission hole than the 1971–75 tank, so if you are installing this tank in a 1971–75 car, you will need a vapor valve grommet (part number E7DZ-9B593VG).

If you are installing this tank in a 1976–77 car, you may also want to purchase the vapor valve and grommet because the old valve and grommet are very difficult to remove without damaging them.
